Who we are

Vancouver Island Trade Exchange (VITX) is a locally owned and operated company created in 2011 by Victoria BC business owners. Our goal is to bring Vancouver Island's business community a truly beneficial barter network that is profesionally operated with a vested interest in the community. All of our company directors and owners are also members and understand the benefits that a trade exchange can bring to our island.

How We Work

Bringing members fullvalue for overstocked items or underbooked servives

Working closely with our members, we provide solutions to cash flow and stock issues by opening up new avenues for barter. Instead of being confined to Trade within an A-B arrangement, we act as a broker for the value of products and services being exchanged. The value is recorded and banked for your business so that it can be used to purchase precisely what you need from our network, when you need it.

A stationary store with overstocked paper trades this excess inventory to a an accountant that is also a VITX member. The stationary store does not need accounting at this time, but does need a new website.

The stationary store owner browses the online Trading Post to find a web developer in the VITX membership network. She then uses the Trade Dollars earned from the overstocked paper to pay for the much needed website.
